Absolutely!
The bottom line is that people do business with those they know and trust.

Do you have a schedule for business & family like?
Yes, I do, but I am also flexible, too and so if my family. Weekends, however, are definitely family
time.

Do you set "working hours"?
I do set working hours. I think it's important to be disciplined and consistent.

Do you take the time out for yourself to relax?
Yes, I do. Self-care is vital to anyone running their own business. Without good health, the rest just doesn't matter.

I am a former securities trader who discovered a passion for graphic design and creating some really fun stuff!
As a native New Yorker transplanted to the midwest, I met my husband on a ski trip in Utah.
I have 3 kids, two boys and one daughter. I had wanted my own business for a long time and when my daughter was born, the timing was right.
For anyone just starting out, please don't give up. Don't have regrets. I tell my kids this.... Life if short. You don't want to wake up one day at 80 years old and think "What if?"
If you have a dream, don't give up. Conduct your business and your life with integrity and the purpose of helping others.
It will take time, money, perseverance and faith, but it can be done. It's not always easy, but you can create a great team of people to work with to help move your dream and theirs to reality.

Patty's Pretty Paper is a premier stationery store & candle
shop
We design unique, fun & affordable personalized stationery items and candles for personal, gift-giving and business needs.
We especially love creating for people with uniquely spelled names as they most likely will not find what they are looking for in a traditional
store. Most recently, we added a "For Your Biz" department. We feel that by helping other small business implement a personalized customer care plan to create customer loyalty, we will directly contribute to the success of those businesses.

Do you think that for most people that the 1st year or 2 is the learning and growing time?
Patty says-I think the first couple of years are when we should be laying the solid foundation. We should always be learning and growing, but without a solid foundation to stand on, we will sink.

Working with other people and finding people to help is very important.
